IG KP suspends SP CTD, DSP for being involved in NDP vehicles’ smuggling

PESHAWAR, JULY-29: Allegedly involved in the smuggling of non-duty-paid vehicles into Malakand division, Inspector General of Police Salahuddin Mahsood suspended SP CTD Banaras Khan and DSP Raof Khan.

Acting upon the directives of DPO Mardan Mian Saeed, Inspector General of Police took serious note of the alleged smuggling of non-duty paid vehicles from Peshawar via Mardan to Malakand division. The inspector general suggested strict disciplinary action against the accused and ordered further inquiry.

The smuggling of non-duty-paid vehicle is not a new phenomenon on this route as earlier several attempts have been traced by the police and custom high-ups, and arrested several policemen in connivance with the dealers and custom staff.

The authorities concerned have directed that strict disciplinary action be taken against the alleged smuggling activities, and asked for a detail inquiry into the case.
