The smuggling of non-duty-paid vehicle is not a new phenomenon on this route as earlier several attempts have been traced by the police and custom high-ups, and arrested several policemen in connivance with the dealers and custom staff.

The authorities concerned have directed that strict disciplinary action be taken against the alleged smuggling activities, and asked for a detail inquiry into the case.
