FBR recovers Income Tax from bank account of Innovative Biscuits

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue has frozen the bank accounts of the Innovative Foods, a biscuit and candy manufacturing company, on Monday and recovered Rs3.2million of Income Tax.

According to sources of Customs Today, FBR had issued many notices to Innovative Biscuits for not paying Income Tax. The Innovative Biscuits was a defaulter of Rs8million of Income Tax.

Sources of Customs Today said the process of recoveries from Innovative Biscuits continues and all the due Income Tax will be recovered at all costs. The bank account frozen was Bank Al Habib, Kot Lakhpat Branch. The action was taken by Deputy Commissioner Abdul Rauf Mayo and Inspector Muzaffar Ali.

In another action, FBR has also recovered Rs400000 as Income Tax from the bank account of a citizen named Aleem. FBR sources said Aleem has been a defaulter of Income Tax since 2014.

Yet in another action against Iqra Ghazi, Income Tax was deducted from the attached bank account of Iqra. She was issued with many notices but she did not submit the wealth statements. She is a resident of Sabzazar Lahore and the FBR has taken this action after attaching her account in NIB bank, Allama Iqbal Town Branch.

FBR Inspector Waqar Haider Shah and Muhammad Akram Haider conducted the said actions.

Earlier, the Federal Board of Revenue has also issued notices to a number of citizens including some engineers, doctors and traders. All the notices were served for not paying Income Tax from Fiscal Year 2014 to 2016.
