Business community fully aware of its obligations: FCCI

FAISALABAD: Business Community of Faisalabad is fully aware of its religious as well as national obligations while donating Zakat and hides of sacrificial animals,said Eng Muhammad Saeed Sheikh President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI).

While addressing an awareness session organised by NGO Initiative for Peace and Development (IPAD) under its project `Safe giving and safe Living’ President FCCI said local philanthropists always contributed generously during earthquakes, floods etc.

“Many of them are also running hospitals, free dispensaries, orphanages and educational institutions as their Social Corporate Responsibilities”.  He said they were also funding religious seminaries offering religious as well as traditional education to their enrolled students.

Earlier, Mishal Tahir Executive Director IPAD said,”Despite the contribution given in charities about 55 million people in Pakistan are living below poverty line”.

She said that IPAD has launched a project of ‘Safe giving and Safe living’ in collaboration with FCCI. Under this project various awareness and orientation sessions would be arranged,while IT and other publicity material will be provided by the IPAD.She hoped that FCCI will own this project and continue it on sustained basis.
