The FIU team asked the driver to show the documents regarding the legal import of the vehicle, but he failed to produce the same. The officials seized the truck under Section 17 of the Custom Act-1969 read with Section 2(s) and sent the case to the adjudication.

Abdur Rehman appeared from the party side before the adjudication and stated that the seized vehicle has been legally imported in the country and stated that his vehicle was properly registered with Motor registration Authority Jaffarabad. Furthermore, the forensic science testing report of the chassis number issued by FSL Islamabad vide report no: 454/2017 shows that there is no tampering of chassis number. The seizing agency failed to produce any solid evidence to rebut the stance of the owner

The produced documents were handed over to the prosecution for verification. The customs representative said the seized vehicle was lawfully imported. After hearing arguments, Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued the order for unconditional release of the seized vehicle to its lawful owner and also issued Order in Original (ONO) No 24/2017.
