RDA, contractors directed to speed up Murree Road repair

RAWALPINDI: The commissioner of Rawalpindi Division has directed the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) chief engineer to speed up the repair work on the Murree Road and complete it as early as possible.

During a meeting, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Capt (r) Zahid Saeed asked the chief engineer and the relevant contractors to expedite the work. Sources said, “Road repair work may take one or two extra weeks after January 31, the deadline for launching Metro Bus Service, however the commissioner Rawalpindi has asked to simultaneously complete the road repair work.”

The RDA spokesman said that the commissioner has tasked the officers to ensure completion of work on the project as per targeted time. To a question, Hafiz Muhammad Irfan said that to make the route beautiful empty spaces will be filled with planters, pavers, sitting areas and food kiosks.
