Appraisement East collects Rs 40,365m duties & taxes in July 2017

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate  of Appraisement East has collected at least Rs 40,365 million taxes and duties under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty during the month of July 2017.

According to sources, the Customs Appraisement East collected Rs 14,988 million customs duty, Rs17, 918 million sales tax, Rs 7,183 million income tax and Rs 275 million as federal excise duty during the month of July 2017.

While showing its extra ordinary performance, the Customs Appraisement East Collectorate collected Rs 2,100 million on the last working day i.e. July 31, 2017 that included Rs 724 million customs duty, Rs 993 million sales tax, Rs 367 million income tax and Rs 16 million federal excise duty.

In July 2016, the sources said the Customs Appraisement East had collected Rs22,656 million taxes and duties that included Rs 8,046 million under head of customs duty, Rs 10,145 million as sales tax, Rs 4,354 million as income tax and Rs 111 million under head of federal excise duty (FED).

It is pertinent to mention here that soon after the start of current Financial Year Customs Apprasement East expedited their efforts to collect as much revenue as possible.
