Vehicles & goods valued at Rs28m taken into possession by Customs Faisalabad during July

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad authorities have impounded various items and vehicles worth Rs28million involving customs duties and taxes of Rs18million during the month of July under section U/S 157.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs Intelligence seized different smuggled goods including imported foreign aluminum foil scrap, miscellaneous electronic items, Rani Juice, used computer systems, a Nissan truck, a Hino mini truck and a Hino truck from the Faisalabad region during various raids on smuggled goods in the month of July.

Separately, Faisalabad intelligence officials confiscated various goods and there were five seizure cases involving Rs14million during different raids. The net customs duty involved Rs6million.

Meanwhile, Customs Intelligence made two seizure cases of goods valued at almost Rs9million. The cases were intercepted by the Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Khushab in July.

During the extensive anti-smuggling campaign, FIU Sarai Muhajir registered only one case of Rs5million involving duties and taxes of Rs5.1million.

The goods confiscated in the three regions of Faisalabad Range including Faisalabad, Sarai Muhajir and Khushab mainly consist of vehicles and other smuggled items.

Customs Intelligence Deputy Director Syed Ittrat Hussain told Customs Today that anti-smuggling campaign against contraband goods is underway with a mission to thwart the attempts of smuggling in the region.
