About 5,755 pieces of smuggled fair & lovely fairness cream seized by Customs Preventive Sukkur

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Customs Preventive Sukkur, confiscated foreign origin non-duty-paid 5,755 pieces of smuggled fair & lovely fairness cream worth Rs575500 involving duties/taxes of Rs370622 during an action at NHW check-post near toll plaza of Rohri-Sukkur division.

Following a tip-off received by Collector Akhlaq Ahmad Khattaq, the ASO team conducted a raid on Sukkur-Rohri to abort a smuggling bid.

Under the supervision of Additional Collector Rehmatulah Vistro, ASO team, comprising In-charge Makhan Khan, Inspector Jurial Abbasi, Inspector Abdul Rauf Bhutto, Sepoys Shabbir Ahmed Thebo, Iqbal Sheikh, Hawaldar Mehram Ali and Driver Manzoor Shori, carried out a search operation and recovered the abovementioned non-duty-paid item being smuggled into Pakistan.

The ASO lodged separate cases of smuggling against the accused and forwarded them to the customs adjudication. After a seizure report, the ASO team deposited the confiscated items into Sukkur State Warehouse.

While talking with Customs Today, customs officials said the Hyderabad Customs showed some brilliant performance with regard to the anti-smugglings during the above said period.
