According to details explained by sources of MCC Peshawar that, during first month of FY17-18, the Auction Cell earned Rs11.86million of miscellaneous taxes and surcharges. During above said period, the Auction Cell received Rs2.81million as Sales Tax (ST) while it did Rs2.54million by putting on sale the smuggled goods, offending (Vehicles used for carrying goods) and NDP vehicles.
The sources told CT that, during the past years, the MCC Peshawar had been holding collective auctions at the MCC Islamabad but presently the MCC Peshawar is holding separate auctions at the Customs Intelligence Peshawar, Auction Cell Kohat and on the premises of the MCC Peshawar.
Sources added that the MCC Peshawar Auction Cell is holding auctions according to the customs bylaws with transparent manners. During the last Financial Year 2016-17, the Auction Cell contributed a huge amount of revenue to the national exchequer and it is hoped that it will add a handsome amount to the account of the MCC Peshawar during the current Financial Year 2017-18.
