Businessmen asks Peshawar Collector to remove hurdles to import, export

PESHAWAR: The local business community has urged the newly-appointed Peshawar Customs Collector, Gul Rehman, to remove hurdles to import, exports and clearing of the goods to facilitate the businessmen.

Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry Senior-Vice president Ziaul Haq Sarhadi led the delegation. They greeted Gul Rehman for taking over the office.

Ziaul Haq Sarhadai told the new collector that the business community is facing a host of problems in import and exports and clearing of the goods at the airport and Peshawar Dry Port. He also demanded dismantling of a number of illegal checkposts on roads leading to Torkham border and provision of missing facilities for businessmen exporting goods to Afghanistan.

Gul Reham vowed every effort to solve the problems being faced by the business community. He assured the delegation to take practical steps to provide improved facilities to business community, particularly local traders.
