Hearing of case filed by M/s Famal Rug Weavers Pvt adjourned

LAHORE: The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) has adjourned the hearing of a case filed by M/s Famal Rug Weavers Private Limited against Regional Tax Office (RTO), Sialkot until next hearing.

According to the details, Consultant to Federal Tax Ombudsman Tariq Yousaf heard the complaint number FTO-LHR/0000171/17 Imtiaz Ahmed Butt, owner of M/s Famal Rug Weavers Private Limited in which the counsel for the appellant argued that the respondents failed to make payment of tax refunds to the company.

At the end, the appellant decided to approach FTO to interfere in the case and direct the tax authorities to clear refund claims as early as possible, the counsel said, adding that the RTO should clear refund of excess collection by the end of year but it failed to do so.

On the other side, tax department representative argued that Sialkot RTO ready to settle the refund claim issue, if appellant will provide accurate record to the office. He added that refunds will be issued after proper assessment and scrutiny of the record.

After hearing the arguments from both sides, the Consultant Tariq Yousaf adjourned the case of M/s Famal Rug Weavers Private Limited until next date for further hearing and directed parties to appear on said date for further hearing. FTO will hear the same case after Eid holidays.
