HYDERABAD: The Vice President Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) Ziauddin has demanded to Sindh Education Minister to form monitoring committees comprising officers of education department and representatives of HCCI for education improvement in public and private sector schools in the district.
In a statement, the HCCI President expressed his dismay over attitude of the management of private schools adding that education in these institutions has become the sources of income instead of producing the calibre which could shoulder the responsibility of the progress and prosperity of the country.
He said that the citizens particularly the business community was paying huge amount in respect of school fees by making cut in their budgets with a hope that their children could live respectable lives in future, but the management of private schools has developed a trend of looting the parents in the name of purchase of high price syllabus and uniforms of the choice of management, imposition of penalties on leave as well fees for quarterly examinations.
Similarly, he said that Sindh Government was spending billions of rupees for ensuring quality education but due to negligence of the education department, the poor management of the public sector schools was making the future of the youth in darkness.
The teachers in public sector schools found absent on duties and the students are studying in shabby condition of buildings posing great threat to their lives, he said and added that officers of education department also found absent from their office resulting in suspension of all official work for improvement of education.
He demanded the Sindh Education Minister to form joint monitoring committees of the officers of education department and representatives of business community so that proper check on the activities of the management of public and private sector educational institutions could be ensured for the betterment of education in Hyderabad.
