Customs Court adjourns hearing of white spirit smuggling case until 12th September

MULTAN: Customs Court has adjourned the hearing of white spirit smuggling case till 12th September, it is learnt here.

According to details, Multan Anti-Smuggling Organization has unearthed the network involved in the smuggling of white spirit in the South Punjab region. Multan Customs seized smuggled white spirit of 60,000 liters in their action few days ago and arrested two smugglers who were identified as Jameel Ahmad and Nazeer Hussain in their action. Both arrested smugglers are on judicial remand in the hearing of said case.

Multan Customs Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) has probed both arrested smugglers about foreign origin seized white spirit. During the investigation of customs it revealed that said smugglers are operating a network of smuggling white spirit in the South Punjab and smugglers have made a warehouse where they used to dump the smuggled white spirit in the region of Kot Rab Nawaz Vehari road. During the interrogation, both accused gave information about their prime accuse Waseem Shehzad who claimed ownership of seized white spirit in the Customs Court of Taxation & Anti Smuggling.

Arrested accuse were produced in the Customs Court for the hearing of case and accuse Waseem Shehzad is also on the pre-arrest bail in the smuggling of white spirit. Customs court given extension in the bail of Waseem Shehzad and further hearing of case adjourned for 12th September.
