PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has been making strenuous efforts for the development of energy sector to overcome the crippling energy crisis and give impetus to industrial development in the province.
Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organisation (PEDO) Board of Directors Chairman Tariq Iqbal stated this while chairing 5th meeting of the board here.
He claimed that the provincial government planned expediting pace of work on the energy projects to eliminate power crisis particularly in the province.
KP Energy and Power Secretary Sahibzada Saeed, Home secretary Syed Akhtar Ali Shah, Additional Secretary Finance Khanzeb Khan and PEDO Chief Executive Officer Bahadur Shah attended the meeting.
On the occasion, the PEDO board took various decisions regarding new administrative structure of the organisation in the light of the previous board meeting.
The board members also interviewed the short-listed candidates for the appointment of new chief executive officer of PEDO.
Later, separate meetings of the PEDO board’s finance and audit and technical committees were held to approve the new administrative structure and terms of references in light of the recommendations of both the committees.
