ISLAMABAD: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has advised consumers that they should not use rubber pipes in gas heaters and stoves, and take special care while using gas appliances.

In view of the supply-demand gap, the company has also asked the consumers to be judicious with gas use and not rely too much on gas heaters and geysers. An SNGPL spokesperson also advised the public to not use rubber pipes for heaters and stoves, which are prone to gas leakage and can thus cause blasts. He said quality gas appliances should be used and a trained plumber should be engaged to rectify gas leakages in houses. The spokesperson also asked the people to keep at least one window of the room open while using gas heaters. The consumers should not use ceiling or exhaust fans in case of gas leakage and keep windows open, he added.
