JAKARTA: Indonesia’s auto sales for the third straight monthly declined in November to 18.4 percent following hike in fuel prices, showed data from industry association Gaikindo.

On a monthly basis, sales also fell 13.4 percent compared with a 2.6 percent increase in October.

Rupiah depreciation also weakened demand for completely built up (CBU) cars.

In November, Toyota Motor Corp led sales, followed by Daihatsu Motor Co Ltd, and Honda Motor Co Ltd.

Auto sales are a key indicator of domestic consumption, which accounts for more than half of Indonesia’s economy.
