Belarusian envoy ask Sialkot exporters to capture EU, Russian markets

SIALKOT: Ambassador of Belarus in Pakistan Andrei Ermolovich has offered the direct easy and hurdle-free trade access to Sialkot exporters to Belarus, European Union (EU), East European and Russian States’ international trade markets.

He invited the Sialkot business community to divert their business activities towards the Belarus for exploring and capturing the international Belarusian trade markets. He stated this while addressing an important meeting of Sialkot business community held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SSCI) here the other day.

The Belarusian Ambassador added that the Belarus was intending to develop the strengthened trade ties with Pakistan, besides, stressing the need of making all out sincere efforts in this regard. Andrei Ermolovich disclosed that the Belarusian Embassy in Islamabad would start issuing all sorts of visas within a stipulated period of coming one and half months.

He revealed that a high powered joint Economic Commission was also being established between Belarus and Pakistan, which would be expected to start regular functioning in January 2015, as the both sides have already completed the necessary work, saying that this joint Economic Commission would work mutually to explore the mutual trade potential between Belarus and Pakistan. Belarusian Envoy that the  early revival of  Turkey-Greece-Pakistan suspended rail links  was also being ensured which would also be helpful to open the economic corridor between Pakistan , Belarus and other EU countries, besides, opening the new vistas of  socio-economic development. He said that the Belarus was also developing its international banking system for facilitating national and international investors and the business community for bringing them to Belarus.

Andrei Ermolovich narrated that Sialkot exporters  could have very god opportunities to develop their trade business in Belarus and in European Union  (EU) countries  trough Belarus , which could play a role of gateway for Sialkot exporters to EU as well. Belarusian Ambassador also vowed to develop the strong business-to-business  links between Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Belarus Chamber of Commerce and Industry(BCCI), saying that this step would also help to explore the mutual trade potential between the two countries.

Earlier, while presenting his address of welcome , President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Fazal Jillani said that both sides of Pakistan and Belarus  at government and private levels,  need to ponder and take meaningful measures  to improve  mutual trade, especially keeping in view that Belarus is one of the most industrialized countries in Europe  with most ideal geographic location and by promoting trade with it, Pakistan could gain massively with better access in the region.

The SCCI President added that for improving trade it was important to undertake activities like exchange of mutual trade delegations and organizing exhibitions, as the role of diplomatic mission in both countries was also important to exchange trade related information.

The SCCI President Fazal Jillani, SVP Mir Alamgir Meyer, VP Malik Naseer Ahmed, Chairman Pakistan Gloves Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PGMEA) Muhammad Younas, Mian Mohsin Gull, Muhammad Waqas Akram, Mian Naeem Javaid, Shehbaz Lodhi and Irfan Sethi were also present on this occasion.
