Collector Gul praises Anti-Smuggling Units Peshawar for forfeiting illegal assets

PESHAWAR: Collector of Customs House Peshawar Gul Rahman Marwat lauded the Anti-Smuggling Units of Peshawar Customs for the forfeiture of illegal assets of Rs26.344million in different raids to raise more tax during the current month of October.

The impounding of NDP vehicles, smuggling of cigarettes and various other miscellaneous goods add extra amount to reach the revenue collection target.

In the light of direction given to Anti-Smuggling Units Peshawar, Customs foiled various attempts of smuggling of NDP vehicles which include NDP Toyota Fielder car-2001, Toyota Vitz-2003 impounded by the Peshawar Customs along with Hino Dumper Trucks of Model 1993 and Hino Dumper Hiace Truck, Model 2003.

The customs also took into possession XLI Motor car (U/S 157) and Toyota Hiace Van, Model 1987, along with an auto rickshaw (U/S 157), Suzuki car, Model LE-9064 U/S 157), and Suzuki Mehran (U/S 157).

Similarly the Peshawar Customs aborted an attempt to smuggle 40000 cartons of pine light cigarettes which amount Rs 400000 and foreign origin cloth of Rs2.2million during different raids in two days of the current month.

The Peshawar Customs also seized black tea weighed 340 kg and amounts Rs204000 along with three F/O engines of Rs 300,000. The ASUs of MCC Peshawar also foiled an attempt to smuggle 50 cartons of Armaghan Cream made in Iran valued at Rs 562,500.

Collector Customs Gul Rahman further informed the scribe that an amount of Rs12million will be earned by selling 1750 mobile sets seized to check the smuggling.
