Quetta Customs Intelligence makes 102 seizures worth Rs291.320m in Q1

QUETTA: Directorate of Customs Intelligence & Investigation, led by Director Irfan Javaid, made as many as 102 seizures worth Rs291.320 million during the first quarter (July-September) of ongoing fiscal year (2017-18) which is approximately 100 percent more than the previous year’s seizures during the same period.

The directorate made 62 seizures worth Rs173.322 million during the first quarter of financial year 2015-16 and 80 seizures amounting to Rs150.759 million during the same period of previous financial year (2016-17).

Similarly, the revenue realized as a result of auctions & duty/taxes/fines was Rs30.806 million in financial year 2015-16; Rs58.424 million in financial year 2016-17 and Rs77.484 million in first quarter of current year which shows 152 percent increase than financial year 2015-16 and a 32 increase than 2016-17.
