FBR Chairman Pasha to personally hear appeal filed by suspended Inspector Asad on October 24

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Pasha will give personal hearing to an ex-inspector of Large Tax Payer Unit Lahore Asad Yaseen on October 24, 2017.

Sources told Customs Today, that Asad has already been dismissed from service but he appealed to the chairman to allow him the last opportunity to prove his innocence. Inspector Asad was suspended on the charges of corruption, misconduct and misuse of powers and the government authority. The chairman had directed him to bring all the relevant documents on the hearing day, which could prove his innocence.

According to sources Inspector Asad was suspended by the relevant authority after the report of concerned inquiry committees. The report was against him and it was proved that he was involved in corruption and misuse of powers. The inquiry officers recommended to FBR Member Administration Tasneem Rehman to award him major penalty.

He appealed before the Member Administration FBR and Member given him last opportunity but he failed to prove his innocence. Now he filed appeal before the chairman which is accepted.

According to law this is the last forum and if he have succeeded to satisfied the chairman FBR than his punishment of major penalty may be ended.
