LAHORE: Pakistan has exported items worth Rs 573 million to India during 28 November to 12 December to India via Wahga border.
According to available documents, Pakistan exported dried fruits, salt, cement, gypsum, glass, aluminum ores and cloth.
Pakistan has exported 2,928 metric tonnes of fruits (HS code 804-1020) to India worth Rs 270 million. On the other hand, perfumery plants and seeds worth Rs 2 million have been exported.
As the winter season has started, Pakistan has exported pine nuts (chilgoza) worth Rs 1 million, while sesamum seed Rs 8 million, vegetables extracts and saps worth Rs 8 million were also exported.
According to details, Pakistan has exported 2,304 metric tonnes rock salt of worth Rs 6 million while the gypsum worth Rs 58 million was sold to India that was 40,415 metric tonnes.
Besides that Pakistan has exported the white cement and other kind of cement worth Rs 105 million. Almost Rs 5 million worth 2,984 metric tonnes aluminum ores was exported.
Pakistan has exported disodium carbonate worth Rs 40 million and hydrogen peroxide of Rs 6 million, sodium hydroxide worth Rs 1 million, lime stone worth Rs 2 million and glass worth Rs 59 million to India.
As a whole, Pakistan exported items worth Rs 573 million with a total weight of items 81,611 metric tonnes to India via Wahga border.
Exporters said that exports to India and other countries could be increased and trade difference could be reduced, if the government facilitated the business community and brought ease and speed in clearance process of customs. They added that Pakistan has potentials to increase the exports level as compare to imports, there is need to outline such laws that facilitate the trades. They quoted that neighbouring country India was giving exemptions and other facilities to their traders to boost the exports.
