The courts located in federal court building; customs and taxation court, anti-smuggling court, Banking courts, environmental court and appellate tribunal remained open. Judges reached offices on time but most of the staff did not show up as most of the roads were blocked by PTI supporters.

The Punjab government had deployed around 19,000 police personnel to avert any clash between the PML-N and PTI activists.

On 15 December Punjab Government promised traders to provide security if they open their markets while markets in most parts of the city remains closed due to forced shut down by the PTI supporters.

The PTI has staged protests in Faisalabad and Karachi last week. In Faisalabad, a PTI worker lost his life after alleged PML-N workers opened fire on him.

During the PTI power show in Karachi, most of the country also witnessed a severe power breakdown and the PTI leadership alleged that it was done deliberately by the government to obstruct the coverage of the PTI strike.

In Lahore, the PTI staged sit-ins at 18 points and blocked roads.

The major points where the PTI activists blocked roads include Shahdara, Bhaati Chowk, PMG Chowk, Babu Sabu Chowk, Charing Cross, Shalimar Chowk, Mughalpura, Bhatta Chowk, Liberty Chowk, Akbar Chowk, Thokar Niaz Baig, Chungi Amar Sidhu, Harbanspura, Wahdat Road, Lahore High Court surroundings and Mozang Chungi.
