Special Customs Judge sends four accused smugglers to jail on judicial remand

MULTAN: The Special Judge Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has sent accused to jail involved in smuggling of vehicles and goods after the completion of the physical remand.

Sources told Customs Today that Multan Customs Investigation and Prosecution Branch was interrogating accused Muhammad Anwar on the charges of smuggling of foreign origin vehicles and various miscellaneous items through Mazda truck.

It is important to mention here that the Anti-Smuggling Organization has arrested four accused named Khaliq Dad, Muhammad Anwar, Muhammad Qasim and Izzat Ullah during their action in the locality of Chowk Shah Abbas near Multan city few days ago.

The Multan Customs staff foiled a bid of smuggling of various smuggled vehicles and goods loaded on the Mazda truck.

The customs team recovered two smuggled vehicles including cigarettes, readymade garments, blankets, carpets, jerseys, rugs and other goods worth Rs15million.

During the interrogation, Customs Investigation and Prosecution Branch revealed that smugglers were transporting these goods and vehicles from Lora Lai Balochistan.

The Multan Customs has completed the investigation from said accused and the customs court sent them to jail on judicial remand on the previous hearing. Further proceedings will resume on 4th of November.
