Appraisement collects Rs114.924m CD in ten days November

FAISALABAD: The Collectorate of Customs Appraisement collected Rs 114.924 million customs duty during the first ten days of November of current fiscal year (2017-18) with 102 percent growth.

Sources told Customs Today that the Collectorate collected Rs103.390 million customs duty during the same period of previous fiscal year (2016-17).

The Customs Appraisement overall generated Rs 426.798 million during the corresponding period under the different heads of duties and taxes with growth of 96 percent.

Assistant Collector Ameer Ahmed lauded his team for collecting increased duties and taxes and said that transfers and postings in the Collectorate has also improved the importers confidence in the customs department. He said that prominent decrease in business cost has been recorded after appropriate steps taken by the authorities concerned.

The Collectorate is seeking feedback from importers and license holders for making clearance process more easy and smooth at the dry ports the assistant collector added.
