Peshawar Customs foils bid to smuggle cloth, digital receivers to Punjab

PESHAWAR: Customs Collectorate mobile squad have impounded a vehicle bearing registration no: C.1255 Bunir in which foreign origin cloth and digital receivers were loaded which were being smuggled to Punjab.

According to the details, Collector Gul Rehman, received credible information about some smuggling attempts. He immediately constituted a team under the supervision of Customs Superintendent Nasir Bukhari have arrested the driver and filed FIR against him according to the customs acts for procession of contraband items.

The superintendent was accompanied by Inspector Abdul Wahid along other officials of Pakistan Customs at Customs House Peshawar.

The sources told Customs Today that Collector Customs have lauded the efforts of Peshawar Customs mobile squad for accomplishment of task.

The collector also directed the team to be prepared for more raids as the FBR has started serious operations against smugglers. It has been of its kind raid conducted in November which will earn millions of revenue.
