Adjudication-II recovered evaded amount of duty by M/s Khadeem Enterprises

KARACHI: The Custom Adjudication-II I is showing outstanding performance by taking action against tax defaulters and issuing continues notices. Source said the Customs Adjudication-II has served a final notice on a defaulter named M/s Kadeem Enterprises and recovered Rs 1.70million from M/s Hunaiza Textiles and Manufacturer Gulbai.

According to the details, M/s Kadeem Enterprises was found involved in the tax evasion. The company imported different wool swatters and jackets, different kinds of used clothes on September 2, 2017 and used wrong PCT heading.

After careful investigations, the Customs Adjudication-II issued a final notice to the company and cleared the outstanding amount of Rs 2.88 million.

Sources told Customs Today that another company M/s Hunaiza Textiles and Manufacturer Gulbai got cleared a consignment of printed colors and its chemicals on July 17 and evaded tax amount of Rs 1.70 million.

After investigations, Customs Adjudication-II served a show cause notice on the company on August 11, but the company failed to clear the outstanding tax amount.

On hat time Collector Customs Adjudication-II Muhammad Javed issued a final notice to the company on August 279. After receiving the notice, the company deposited Rs 1.70 million in favor of the Customs Department. Source said by hand of Custom Adjudication II, seven more cases are still under observation.
