MCC GB goes plus with marginal revenue during over four months

GILGIT-BALTISTAN: The Model Customs Collectorate of Gilgit-Baltistan generated surplus revenue of Rs15.00million under all the heads against the assigned proportional revenue collection target under all the heads during the first four months plus 10 days (July to 10th November) of Financial Year 2017-18. The Gilgit-Baltistan was assigned a proportional revenue target of Rs1647million against the plus collection of Rs1662million during above said period under all the heads.

Akbar Jan, Deputy Collector Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), told Customs Today that, during 1st July to 10th of November FY17-18, the GB showed 0.88% growth against the allocated proportional revenue collection target. During above said period, the GB grabbed the revenue collection growth of 9.35% against the same period of corresponding FY16-17. During the same period of FY16-17, the GB earned Rs1519million under all the heads.
Deputy Collector told CT that, during early 10 days of November FY17-18, the GB received Rs150.52million under all the heads whereas it was earmarked a proportional revenue target of Rs146.90million under all the heads of duties and taxes. During the same period of last FY16-17, the GB collected Rs143.69million under all the heads.
He told CT that, during initial 10 days of November FY17-18, the GB showed 2.46% increase against an assigned proportional revenue collection target of all taxes while it grabbed 4.75% growth against the same period of previous initial 10 days of November FY16-17 under all the heads. During initial 10 days, the GB displayed outstanding performance of Sales Tax and Withholding Tax. He optimistically said that the GB will surpass the allocated revenue target of 2nd Quarter of FY17-18 as it posted surplus collection during the 1st Quarter FY17-18 under all the heads.
