RIYADH: According to port data, over July-September 2017/18 Romania exported 781 KMT of barley to extra and non EU destinations, which was 20% lower than over the same period last season. Thus, over July-September 2017/18 Saudi Arabia returned the leading position in purchases of Romanian barley – 266.65 KMT (519 KMT over the same period last season). Though imports were sharply lower due to high barley export prices this season and high carry over stocks from 2016/17 season. USDA predicts further decrease in Saudi Arabia`s barley imports this season.
