About 95 vehicles valued at Rs166.33m taken into possession by ASO Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization Islamabad impounded 95 vehicles worth Rs166.33million during July to 15th of November’s Fiscal Year 2017-18.

According to details explained by Majid Hussain Gadd, Assistant Collector, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad that, during above said period, the ASO performed well. He added that, under the supervision of Saeed Khan Jadoon, Collector Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad, the ASO and the Car Cell of the Islamabad Customs is working efficiently.
Assistant Collector told CT that, during 1st July to 15th of November 2017-18, the ASO took into possession 78 offending vehicles (vehicles used for carrying smuggling goods) worth Rs85.67million during various operations. Majid Hussain Gadd said that the Customs Car Cell of the ASO impounded 17 Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) vehicles from different locations under the jurisdiction of the MCC Islamabad. The impounded vehicles value at Rs80.66million. Several FIRs have also been registered against the possessors of the NDP vehicles under Customs Act-1969.
He told CT that, during 1st Quarter FY17-18, the ASO took into possession 56 vehicles worth Rs66.76million. During 1st-Q, the ASO impounded 47 offending vehicles valued at Rs51.90million whereas the Car Cell of the ASO took into possession nine NDP vehicles worth Rs14.86million.
