North Region striving to improve FED decline in collection showed during 20 days of Nov

ISLAMABAD: The Customs North Region is taking measures to make the performance better for the collection of Federal Excise Duty (FED). The performance of the FED during first 20 days of November’s Financial Year 2017-18 showed decline against the assigned proportional target of FED and against the collection of the same period of corresponding Fiscal Year 2016-17.

According to details explained by sources that, during 20 days of November’s Financial Year (FY)17-18, the Customs North Region posted -72.94% decrease against the proportional revenue collection target of FED whereas it displayed -79.08% decline in growth against the revenue collection of FED during 20 days of previous November 2016-17.
The sources informed CT that the North Region earned Rs20.68million as FED during first 20 days of November 2017-18 while the North was allocated the proportional target of Rs76.43million for said period. The sources added that, during the same period of corresponding November 2016-17, the North Region generated Rs98.86million under the same head.
The sources told CT that, during 20 days of current month of November FY17-18, the North’s Customs Station of Collectorate of Islamabad received Rs10.31million of FED whereas it was earmarked the proportional revenue target for first 20 days of November FY17-18 amounting to Rs64.85million. The Islamabad Customs collected Rs88.34million under the same head during 20 days of November FY16-17.
The North Region’s Customs Station Peshawar got Rs10.37million as FED during first 20 days of November’s FY17-18 while it was assigned the proportional target for the same period of Rs11.58million. The Peshawar Collectorate generated Rs10.52million during the same period of previous November’s FY16-17 of FED.
