Multan Customs seeks forensic science laboratory test report of seized vehicles

MULTAN: The Model of Customs Collectorate has requested Forensic Science Laboratory to conduct examination of seized vehicles.

According to details, Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has seized numerous vehicles in suspect of smuggling during their crackdown in the jurisdiction. Anti-Smuggling Organization of Multan Customs is investigating seizure cases of these non duty paid vehicles. These seized vehicles are waiting for their Forensic Science Laboratory examination test. Forensic Science Laboratory examination is necessary for the proceedings of investigation of seized vehicles.

Superintendent Anti-Smuggling Organization Habibur Rehman requested Senior Superintendent of Police Forensic Science Laboratory to send a special team of forensic experts for conducting chemical examination of seized vehicles lying in the State Ware House of Multan Customs.

The Model of Customs Collectorate has 17 different seized vehicles available in the State Ware House which needs forensic chemical examination. Customs Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) branch has also seek chemical laboratory reports to determine whether these seized vehicles are tampered or non- tampered. Tampered vehicles are not allowed to present in auction so it is necessary for Multan Customs to determine their status

Most of these non-customs paid vehicles were seized by Anti-Smuggling Organization on the physical examination and forensic chemical laboratory report will confirm their status of tampered or non-tampered.
