PMEX index closes at 3,031 points

KARACHI: Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited’s commodity index on Thursday closed at 3,031 points.

The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at Rs 4.773 billion and the number of lots traded was 9,021, said press release on Friday.

The major business was contributed by gold Rs 2.688 billion, followed by currencies through COTS Rs 975.007 million, WTI crude oil Rs 523.181 million, DJIA Rs 216.863 million, silver Rs 176.782 million, platinum Rs 71.520 million, natural gas Rs 66.598 million, NSDQ100 Rs 40.659 million, copper Rs 7.527 million, SNP500 Rs 3.894 million, and brent crude oil Rs 2.721 million. In agricultural commodities 26,325 lots of red chili amounting to Rs 4.738 million were traded.
