NAB to probe Steel Mills corruption

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to launch an inquiry to assess if the decaying condition of Pakistan Steel Mills is a result of corruption.

The decision was taken to launch a detailed inquiry into the affairs of Pakistan Steel Mills as corruption of billions of rupees has financially destroyed the national entity due to lack of government interest.

Through the inquiry into the affairs of Pakistan Steel Mills, it would also be ascertained whether it was a part of any conspiracy to financially destroy the country’s entity and who were involved in loot and plunder of the Pakistan Steel Mills.

The NAB has decided to recommend the names of all those who were remained at responsible positions in past and present to put their names on the Exit Control List so that no one could leave the country, It is to be mentioned that the National Assembly’s standing committee on Industries has already taken a notice of corruption in Pakistan Steel Mills and asked to NAB for inquiry with regard to corruption of billions of rupees.
