KARACHI: The Pakistan Customs has started preparation to mark International Customs Day (ICD) 2018 here on 26th January at Old Customs House, Eduljee Dinshaw Road Karachi.
According to the details, the Pakistan Custom will mark 26th January as International Customs Day and for this purpose a grand ceremony will be held at Old Customs House, which will be started after the flag hosting ceremony.
Sources informed Customs Today that the daylong event will encompass the speeches of the Collector Customs Collectorate Preventive, Chief Collector South Enforcement, respectively as well as the chief guest of the event will deliver an address to the gathering along with other notable personalities being invited by the customs authorities.
To mark the International Customs Day (ICD) 2018 the customs administration is finalizing preparation whereas a detailed briefing is planned by the customs officers at the conference hall located at the 5th floor of the Customs House building. The Collector Customs Preventive Dr Iftikhar Ahmed will brief the media person on 20th of the January regarding the upcoming mega event.
On the International Customs Day 2018 huge narcotics and contraband goods will be destructed at E-2, Customs Colony, Maripur and for the destruction another ceremony will also be held on the same day, the source informed.
The source also informed that for the said event being organized by Pakistan Customs, the Collecroate of Customs Collectorate Preventive has started sending the invitation to the high level authorities including the brass of the department.
Before the ending ceremony of the event the chief guest will also distribute certificates among the officers who performed their duties in well manner showing the outstanding work.
It is pertinent to mention that the International Customs Day (ICD) is celebrated to enhance the effectiveness and efficacy of the member customs administrations and to enhance the revenue collection, community protection, national security as well as trade statistics collection.
