FAISALABAD: The Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Sargodha of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation has staken into possession a non-duty paid Hino truck bearing registration No: SGA-786 (Naseerabad), modelled 2002, worth Rs5million involving customs duties and taxes of Rs3.1million.
Sources told Customs Today that Superintendent Muhammad Tahir received a tip-off about the plying of a non-customs-paid vehicle on the road. He constituted a team comprising Intelligence Officer Mansoor Nasir, Driver Tajam-ul-Haq (Havaldar), Sepoys Muhammad Sajjad and Khalil Ahmed.
The FIU team intercepted a Hino truck near Jhal Chakkiyan Sargodha and asked the owner of vehicle identified as Mulazim Hussain son of Saif Ali Khan to produce the legal documents regarding the possession of the truck. But he failed to provide any relevant documents. So the FIU team impounded the truck and forwarded the case to the Custom Adjudication for legal proceeding.
