PESHAWAR: The Customs Department has notified that all the customs clearance of imports and exports along the Torkham Border will be carried out through WEBOC Service from March 12, 2018.

Earlier, the importers have protested the unavailability of internet facilities in Torkham region for which several meetings were held with Collector Customs Mohammad Saeed Jadoon.

Assistant Collector Customs at Torkham Customs Station Sadaf Ali Shah told Customs Today on Friday that earlier the Customs Department had asked the importers that no clearance of imports and exports will be executed without the registration of user’s ID with the WEBOC service.

Miss Sadaf Ali Shah informed CT that she had gone to Karachi in order to inform the authorities at the Customs West about the rising issues of Customs Clearance on Torkham Border for which customs high-ups had assured her of taking up the matters with the big importers and exporters to ensure use of WEBOC service.

Delay in the customs clearance not only troubles the importers and exporters but also causes the government a lower collection of revenue along the Torkham Border.

The AC Customs further informed the correspondent that no excuse will be entertained after March 12, 2018 and clearance through WEBOC will be made mandatory.
