No security at FBR’s Regional Tax Offices in Lahore

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue Regional Tax offices in Lahore are being secured by the peons, bailiffs, notice servers and other grade-four employees instead of professional guards, Customs Today has reliably learnt.

Sources informed Customs Today that earlier Lahore tax offices were being guarded by a private security company that has withdrawn its services due to some unknown reasons. They said that the RTOs authorities have taken measures to stop unauthorized vehicles on the office premises.

The sources said that the country is already in grip of terrorism activities. The FBR is a key department of the state and in every RTO, there is a record of billions of rupees, which needs to be protected. “Security of the employees is also very important,” they added.

The sources informed the employees who were performing the security duties at RTO Lahore at gates were mostly, peons, bailiffs, notice servers, naib qasad and others that have been assigned these task by the authorities of the regional offices. They urged the authorities to secure the FBR staff and records on top priority.
