Cutoms Court seeks challan in mis-declaration case

KARACHI: The Customs Court has directed investigation officer of Customs Collectorate of Exports, Port Muhammad Bin Qasim Export Processing Zone, Karachi, to complete investigation against directors/ partners of M/s BHF Services ( processing unit at KEPZ), who were booked in mis-declaration and mega tax evasion case.

During the hearing, investigation officer informed the court that the suspects imported a consignment and declared to contain used clothes, and filed goods declaration for clearance thereof through their designated customs house agent M/s BHF Services.

During the examination, the consignment was found as used second-hand clothing weighing 9300 kilogram. However, the customs team also found 15,110 kilogram new unstitched curtain cloth which was undeclared in the goods declaration.

He informed the court that after the requirements, officials of the customs authorities registered First Information Report against Muhammad Jawais, Shahid Musa, Junaid, director/ partners of M/s BHF Services (processing unit at KEPZ), Syed Mukarram Ali, proprietor of M/s BHF Services, Naveed, an employee of M/s BHF Services, M/s South Asia Logistic Services and other to be ascertained during the investigation.
