Customs Preventive collects Rs3597m duty, taxes in April

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive has collected Rs3597 million all duty and taxes during the month of April Financial Year 2017-18 by posting a growth of 23 percent against the target of last same of period last year.

As per details, the Collectorate of Customs Preventive collected Rs996 million under the head of customs duty (CD) during the period under review against the proposed target of Rs1003 million assigned by Federal Board of Revenue (FBR(.

Similarly, the Collectorate collected Rs2228 million under the head of sales taxes (ST) during the period under review against the target of Rs 2786 million.

On the other hand the Collectorate of Customs Preventive collected Rs24 million on account of withholding tax (WHT) against the target of Rs11 million during the month of April.

Likewise, the Collectoarte collected Rs 3.17 million on account of federal excise duty (FED) during the period against Rs 1.30 million proposed target for the period. Overall the Collectoarte collected Rs 3597million all duty and taxes during period under review.

It is necessary to mention here that Collector Faiz Ahmad introduced a comprehensive strategy to enhance revenue generation measures. Due to this effective strategy there is marginable increase is being witnessed in the revenue collection of the Collectorate.
