Customs foils bid to smuggle 2.5kg of ice-heroin to Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: Customs staff deputed at Islamabad International Airport foiled a bid to smuggle drugs to foreign country and recovered 2.5 kilogram high quality of ice heroin and arrested the accused on the spot.

According to details, the accused who was later identified as Mukhlis Taj resident of Nowshehra, ready to fly for Riyadh Saudi Arabia was attempting to smuggle the high quality of ice heroin,. He was clever enough that he selected the time for clearance of his luggage, when the Customs staff was changing its shift of duty.

However, the customs staff is more vigilant and professional and is keeping eye on miscreants who are smuggled goods to foreign country and earning bad image of the country as well as the customs department, during as usual thorough checking at customs checkpoint at airport, the staff recovered from the secret part of bags concealed in a technical way, 2.5 kilogram of ice heroin having worth of approximately 12.1 million at international market. The customs official arrested the accused on the spot and logged FIR and registered drugs smuggling case against him.

It is also important to mention here that customs staff deputed at Islamabad International Airport showing outstanding performance and busting each and every attempt of smuggling with iron hands.
