Customs Appellate Tribunal settles petition filed by M/s Lucky Enterprises against DG I&I

ISLAMABAD: Customs Appellate Tribunal on disposed petition filed by M/s Lucky Enterprises against Collectorate of Customs and Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation, Islamabad.

Customs Appellate Tribunal’s single bench comprising Member, Syed Muhammad Anwar had reserved the decision during last hearing. The tribunal issued directives to adjudication to rehear the matter as appellant’s application was pending before department’s official.

M/s Lucky Enterprises, Haq Nawaz and Wasif Hussain had filed these cases. All of these cases had been filed during 2016. M/s Lucky Enterprises had had filed the case against MCC. It had challenged a customs duty assessment sustained by the adjudication.

Haq Nawaz and Wasif Hussain had filed cases regarding release of vehicles which were seized by customs authorities amid attempt to smuggling various items. They had filed cases against customs intelligence and investigation, Islamabad. The bench adjourned hearing of these cases till next week.

The appellants had challenged department’s adjudication decision before the bench through the said cases. Adjudication had maintained charges against appellants during departmental hearings.
