Installation of elevator starts at Multan Customs House to facilitate visitors

MULTAN: Installation of elevator started at Multan Customs House to facilitate employees and visitors after efforts made by Collector Ambreen Ahmed Tarar.

The Customs Collectorate new building was inaugurated three and a half years ago and elevator work was not installed due to certain reasons. Building of Customs House comprises four floors which was inaugurated by Chairman Federal Board of Revenue along with Collector in a notable event at the Customs House.

Newly-constructed building of the Customs House Multan was centrally air-conditioned and had state-of-the-art facilities like other offices. But facility of elevator was not available in the Multan Customs House due to lack of funds.

The first floor of Customs Collectorate comprised Collector Ambreen Ahmad Tarar , Additional Collector Asdaq Afzal Sensera and Deputy Collector Saqib-ur Rehman offices. Statistic branch and conference rooms were also located at the first floor of the Multan Customs House.

Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), General Branch, Assistant Collector Office existed at the second floor of the customs House. Third floor of customs house had recovery branch, law branch, rebate and refund branch, account office, audit branch along with PRAL office. WeBOC, DTRE department is also situated on the third floor of the customs house Multan.

Fourth floor of the Customs house building consists of Customs Adjudication, Additional Collector Customs Adjudication, Investigation and Prosecution branch.

Customs employees and visitors were facing issues to reach the fourth floor on daily basis. Employees requested Collector Ambreen Ahmad Tarar for setting up of elevator for visiting any floor without any inconvenience in accomplishing Official tasks.

The Collector ordered to install new elevator to avoid any inconvenience in movement from first floor to others for the employees for various office tasks.
