Customs Court approves judicial remand of accused involved in white spirit smuggling

MULTAN: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Saturday approved 14-day judicial remand of two accused persons who were arrested in the smuggling case of white spirit.

Accused Najeebullah and Muhammad Umer were arrested with the jurisdiction of Police Station Chowk Qureshi Wala in the attempt of smuggling white spirit. Police have lodged criminal FIR No 303/18 and 304/18 against them and accused were given three remand for investigation.

Multan Customs requested police authorities to handover the said accused for interrogation of smuggling, which was granted by the police and the accused were handed over to Customs Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) branch.

The customs investigation team had produced accused before the customs court for getting their 14 days physical remand to investigate more about smuggling of white spirit. After the completion of the remand, accused will be produced again before the court for the further proceedings in the smuggling of white spirit till 7th June.
