Cultural Complex Project worth Rs 2.5 billion: CDA forwards corruption case to NAB

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has forwarded the embazzlement and illegal use of funds in construction of Cultural Complex case to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for investigation.

The decision was made on the directives of Public Accounts Committee (PAC). Earlier, several departmental inquires have been done the CDA but no action was taken against the culprits.

The PAC in its last meeting has directed Chairman CDA to investigate the project through NAB and bring the culprits to justice. It is vital to mention here that the project for the construction of Cultural Complex was started in former president Pervez Musharraf’s era.

Its estimate cost was 1.1 billion rupees which was increased to 2.5 billion by the authorities due to corruption. The contractor after receiving million of rupees ran away without completing the project.
