Multan Customs I&P lodges FIR against suspect involved in smuggling

MULTAN: Customs Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) branch has lodged FIR against suspect who is involved in smuggling of foreign-origin tyres, auto parts and other different items seized by Anti-Smuggling Organization.

Sources told Customs Today that Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization intercepted Hino truck bearing registration number TKK-022 near Shah Saddar Din Taunsa on the credible information of their source. During their action anti-smuggling squad recovered huge quantity of new and old branded tyres, welding electrodes, 68 sacks of walnuts (shelled), dried palm, almond, fruit used, cumin seed (zeera) and other foreign origin species from the said truck in their action.

Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has also arrested accused person Imran Abbasi during their action because he was failed to provide any legal documents regarding possession of imported goods.

Customs  Anti-Smuggling Organization has shifted the accused in the Customs Collectorate for further investigation where Investigation and Prosecution branch of Multan Customs Collectorate lodged the FIR against accused Muhammad Imran Abbasi on smuggling charges. Customs teams lodged FIR no.14/18 against the accused after initial interrogation and further investigations are still under way till the filing of this report.
