Additional Collector Asma serves notice to owner of non-customs paid Toyota Hilux case

FAISALABAD: Additional Deputy Collector Adjudication Asma Hameed issued a show cause notice to owner of non-duty paid Toyota Hilux surf case.

As per details, Anti-Smuggling Organization following credible information intercepted a Toyota Hilux surf bearing registration no: BF-2989 and asked the owner of the vehicle who introduced himself as Sheraz Ahmed to show documents regarding legal import of the vehicle but he could not produce the same.

Therefore, the officials impounded the vehicle consider it smuggled one under the customs laws and forwarded case to Customs Adjudication for further legal action.

Now Additional Collector Asma Hameed issued notice to the accused person on the violation of Section 10-A 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act 1969 punishable under Section 156(1)89 of the customs act and also called upon the accused in show cause as to why the said vehicle should not be confiscated under aforementioned provisions of the law.

However, the adjudication has directed the accused to file reply on next date of hearing. The seizing agency has also been directed to file reply in the respective case.

Hearing date of in this case has been fixed while the respondent may appear in person or through his accredited representative before the undersigned at the office.

The adjudication authority also directed Superintendent Tanveer Raza Naqvi to attend the hearing on schedule date along with relevant record.
