Gwadar Customs seizes non-duty paid Iranian juices worth Rs8m

GWADAR: The Customs Collectorate seized huge quantity of non- duty paid Iranian pack juices and confectionery items include chocolates and bubbles worth Rs8 million including vehicle being used for smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today on Friday evening that Deputy Collector Junaid Mehmood received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non duty paid Iranian pack juices and confectionery items from Gwadar to Karachi.

After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Salman Ahmed and others. The team, during a search operation on Jewani area, intercepted a truck bearing registration no DHT-0826.

During search, the team impounded more than 800 packets of non-duty paid Iranian juices, large numbers of confectionery items valued at Rs 8 million including truck used in smuggling.

The team seized all smuggled items and arrested truck driver, who were later identified as Badshah Bangash, Sources told that customs official started investigations from accused person.
