FBR motivates investors, property dealers to avail benefits of Tax Amnesty Scheme

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) organized a seminar on ongoing Tax Amnesty Scheme which was held at Defence Club. Large number of investors and property dealers participated in the seminar.

The basic purpose of the seminar was to create awareness among business community about the benefits of Tax Amnesty Scheme 2018 and apprise them about the benefits of the scheme.

The seminar was organized by Regional Tax Office-II and renowned businessmen of the region participated in the awareness and motivational session to avail the tax amnesty scheme to legalize their hidden assets which exist within and outside the country.

In the seminar Commissioner Zone-II Dr. Sarmad Qureshi, Additional Commissioner Ghazala Hameed Razi, Deputy Commissioner Essam Anwar Khokhar, spokesperson on tax amnesty scheme Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Suliman and other also participated along with investors and property dealers.

On the occasion, Commissioner Inland Revenue (CIR) Dr Sarmad Qureshi was specially invited to give briefing to the participants and answer the questions of taxpayers.

Addressing the participants, commissioner Inland Revenue said that tax amnesty scheme is unique and it is the first time in the history of Pakistan that FBR announced such scheme to legalize hidden assets at minimum tax rates. More and more Pakistanis must be avail this golden chance to legalize their assets.

He said that this scheme is beneficial for the capitalists/businessmen as well as for the country. The maximum people should avail this scheme to legalize their assets and strength the national economy.

Talking to participants, he highlighted that now Federal Board of Revenue is connected with Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), having complete information about the particulars of Pakistani nationals who have undeclared properties in UK, Dubai and other countries.

Technically speaking, Additional Commissioner Ghazala Hameed Razi said that this is a golden opportunity to legalize the assets within and outside the country. The offices of FBR are open and officers are available to facilitate and guide each and every person.

She also answered the questions asked by property dealers and investors in Defence Housing Authority and guide about the procedure to adopt and avail tax amnesty scheme.

FBR officers stressed that only three days are remaining so the people should act fast and avail the tax amnesty scheme to legalize hidden assets.

In the seminar, renowned businessmen, investors, property dealers of Defense Housing Authority participated and showed their interest to avail the scheme to legalize their assets.
