LAHORE: Following directions of The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), all field offices remained open on Saturday instead of routine holiday to collect corporate income tax returns.

It is important to mention that all FBR field offices remained close on Saturday but department has cancelled the holiday of upcoming Saturday to facilitate the corporate taxpayers. On the other hand, it has been also announced that all field tax offices will remain open till 8 pm on December 31 to collect the duties, taxes and receipt of corporate income tax returns. The directions has been sent to all chief commissioners of Inland Revenue, all chief commissioners of Large Taxpayer Unit (LTU) and all chief collectors of Model Customs Collectorates (MCCs). This notification was issued on December 18. The sources at the RTO Lahore said that the FBR has taken this step just to facilitate the taxpayers and to give sufficient time to file their returns and taxes/duties.
